Once again it’s that time of year and the start of the ninth series of Strictly Come Dancing is imminent. We’re eagerly awaiting the full line-up of celebrities who are getting ready to strut their stuff on the dance floor. Rumours abound but it looks as if there will be some well known faces to support. Chris Tarrant – Who wants to be a millionaire and ex Tizwas presenter, Alex Jones – from The One Show and jason Donovan – West End star, are all confirmed as being in the show. The full line-up is due to be announced later this month. The professional line-up for 2011 has a new face – Pasha Kovalev who comes from Siberia and specialises in Latin. The other familiar faces of Artem, Brendan, Anton, James, Vincent and Robin complete the male dancers. Joining them, for the ladies, are Erin, Flavia, Ola, Natalie, Kristina, Aliona and Katya.
The series starts with a double bill over the weekend of Friday 30th September and Saturday 1st October. This year there will be a special Children in Need show on Saturday 19th November at Wembley in front of 6000 fans and the grand final on Saturday 17th December will be filmed from Blackpool Tower Ballroom in 3D. It Takes Two has a new presenter – Zoe Ball, as Claudia Winkleman is taking time out after the birth of her third child in July. Helia will miss Claudia’s quirky take on everything (Eric will not) but Claudia will still be presenting the Sunday result show with Tess Daly.
Hopefully there will be a some top entertainment with a high standard of dancing and not too much time wasting at the start and end of each 1′ 30″ routine, says Eric.
